The first two weeks
Let your dog decompress. Keep a steady daily pattern for meals, walks and rest. Decide on a dose day you will remember and stick to it. If you have other pets, treat everyone on the same day so you do not leave gaps.
Low stress dosing
Many anxious dogs accept a chew if it feels like a normal treat. Offer after a small meal, use a pill pocket, or press into a meatball. Add a cue like sit, give the chew, then follow with a favourite reward so the experience stays positive. If you prefer a collar, introduce it slowly with treats and fit it snugly so you can slide two fingers under.
Gentle grooming and home basics
Short, calm brushing helps you spot flea dirt around the neck and tail base. Vacuum rugs, sofa seams and car mats and empty the vacuum outside. Hot wash bedding and favourite blankets and dry them thoroughly. Run this weekly for three months if you have seen fleas.
