Floods and storms leave damp carpets, musty mats and longer grass, all of which raise parasite pressure. Keep prevention on schedule and use this drying sequence while you tidy up.
Move pets to the driest rooms you have. Lift wet rugs and door mats and dry them in the sun if possible. Run fans or a dehumidifier to bring humidity down.
Clean-up order
Vacuum once surfaces are dry enough, then empty the vacuum outside
Hot wash pet bedding and dry thoroughly
Shake and sun-dry car rugs and travel blankets
Trim lawn near sleeping areas so checks are easy
Stick to dose day and treat every pet on the same date. Vacuum three times a week for three weeks, then weekly. Rinse dogs after muddy outings and towel dry to the skin. Add a nightly two-minute tick check after bush edges.

Do not stack different preventives unless your vet advises
We are still seeing fleas weeks after the storm. Is that normal
Yes. Hidden stages hatch in damp fabrics. Stay on time and keep the clean-up sequence going.
