NZ small-outdoor area flea control, made simple

    Introduction

Small outdoor areas collect shade, damp mats and pot-plant debris where flea stages thrive. A steady preventive plus quick yard habits keeps the space comfortable for dogs and cats.

    Make the space low risk

Rinse artificial turf and let it dry fully. Keep pot saucers tipped out so they do not hold water. Shake and sun-dry door mats and outdoor rugs after rain. Store pet beds off concrete so they do not wick moisture.

    Weekly courtyard rhythm

    • Sweep leaves and clear drain grills

    • Vacuum indoor rugs and sofa seams and empty the vacuum outside

    • Hot-wash pet bedding and dry thoroughly

    Walks and nearby reserves

If your routine includes bushy paths, add a two-minute tick check at night: ear edges, under the collar, armpits, groin, between toes, tail base. For cats, place spot-ons high on the neck and keep housemates apart until the site is dry.

    Safety basics

Species matters. Dose to today’s weight and follow label ages. Avoid stacking preventives unless your vet advises.
